Computer Requirements

 
 

Customers computer must have a network interface card installed; we can dispatch a technician to install a network card for additional charges. Non-Standard inside wiring may incur additional charges.

The minimum PC system requirements for Access Highway DSL at present are:

  • One of the following operating systems:
    • Windows 95/98
    • Windows NT 4.0 Workstation or Server with Service Pack 5 or 6a (128 bit encryption)
    • Windows 2000 Professional
    • Windows XP
  • Intel Pentium
    • Pentium Pro
    • Pentium MMX
    • Pentium II
    • Pentium III (166 MHz or higher)
  • AMD K5/K6, or Cyrix 586/686 processor
  • 32MB RAM (64MB recommended)
  • 25MB free hard drive space (50MB recommended)
  • CD-ROM drive
  • Ethernet card, PCI slot that supports bus mastering, or USB port (depending on your system and the modem you will use for your Access Highway DSL,

Macintosh Requirements

The minimum Macintosh system requirements for Access Highway DSL at present are:

  • PowerPC processor
  • Mac OS 7.5.5 through Mac OS 9.0
  • 32MB (64MB recommended)
  • 25MB free hard drive space (50MB recommended)

Ethernet card. An Ethernet card is already built into all iMac, G3 Power Mac, and G3 PowerBook computers.
